*Did not go through the museum* - stopped for a wander through the shop, grabbed an ice-cream and enjoyed the grounds. Based on what I saw it was a lovely addition to a short walk around the town. One of the most pleasant places I've had a sit for a lunch snack in a while.
Close parking but imagine it gets full quickly in peak hours
Third visit, but first time going through the mill. Fascinating and the staff prove a good visitor experience is all about the passion and knowledge of the staff rather than screen based interactives.
The coffee and food were as delicious as ever.
Have passed the sign to the mill many times on A34, but always during closing time. So at last I was able to visit during opening times and very pleased I did, very interesting and excellent knowledge of the industry when speaking to a young lady, sorry can't remember her name, she very informative and answered lots of questions my friend and I asked. My friend had fun dressing up in the costumes. We are all big kids. 😂 Thank you so much and the disabled lift was a god send. Will visit again. Well recommended.
Absolutely lovely time. I tried weaving. Excellent lunch , coronation chicken, and drink . Beautiful gardens , feed ducks lovely mill walk great time.
Blink and you'll miss it as you go past, but Whitchurch Silk Mill is a lovely place to simply drop in for coffee and cake, watch the beautiful River Test flow past the mill, or take in the whole silk mill experience in the old mill museum. The setting is lovely, and you can sit in either of the two garden spaces next to the river on a nice day, or in the pleasant cafeteria if the weather doesn't suit. Staff are lovely, and the food is freshly prepared and reasonably priced. Well worth a visit.
Great coffee shop with a nice range of cakes and quick bites.
My daughter went for a bacon roll which she really enjoyed.
I tried the sausage roll as i couldnt resist. It was quite big and i had the choice of salad or gherkins! So definately the salad!
You can sit outside too which is nice by the river and you can also grab some duck/fish food to feed the local wildlife (kids love it)
The coffee shop also has a small shop with some really nice gifts. (See pictures)
Really nice lication and a Lovely service too easy 5* review.

Very interesting mill set on an island created by split streams of the River Test. One of the streams is canalised to provide a steady flow of water to the waterwheel, which used to be the only source of power to run the machinery. Great little café on site. Look out for the large trout in the stream as you cross the bridge on the way in!
Atmospheric restored silk mill on the River Test. Cafe offers freshly prepared light lunches and amazing cakes. Outside ducks gather on the river.
